Diving in the Canaries is characterized by 4 typical features: Tempered waters. The oceanic current, called "Canarian Current ", regulates the temperature variations all year round. The coastal water column varies from 18°c in February to 25°c in August. No thermocline but a progressive lost of 1°c or 2°c can be felt during deep diving. Exceptional sight. Unlike the West African coasts, the underwater visibility in Tenerife can exceed 30m. The Canarian Islands are recognized to have one of the best underwater sights in the world. Melting pot of species. The Tenerife fauna and flora include many endemic species from the Canaries and Micronesia, but also from North Atlantic including some tropical and subtropical species. In the same way, the Mediterranean marine life succeeds in adapting to the clement conditions of the Canarian waters. Volcanic landscapes. Drop-offs, columns of basalt, natural caves and swimthroughs (accessible all levels) make Tenerife dive sites unforgettable. Please, visit our photo galleries.
