Emergency First Response coursesThe ability to provide CPR/First Aid assistance is a skill that has application in all areas of our lives.

Whether you are a parent, school teacher, driver, builder in the construction industry or setting up your own business, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to provide emergency care for someone.

Emergency First Response (EFR) courses will give you the confidence to provide care when there is a medical emergency.

  • Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) course + Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training

CPR mannequinThis course teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.

Primary Care (CPR) course content:
- Scene safety assessment
- Universal precautions - Communicable disease protection, including barrier use.
- Primary assessment
- Rescue breathing
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

Automated External Defibrillator
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Conscious and unconscious obstructed airway management
- Serious bleeding management
- Shock management
- Spinal injury management

  • Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) course + Emergency Oxygen use orientation (O²)

Bandaging and splintingEmergency First Response Secondary Care (first aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Participants focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.

Secondary Skills taught in this course:
- Injury assessment
- Illness assessment
- Bandaging
- Splinting for dislocations and fractures
- Emergency Oxygen use orientation (O²)

  • Emergency First Response Refresher course + Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training + Emergency Oxygen use orientation (O²)

To keep your CPR and First Aid skills up to date, it is important to join a Refresher course at least every 2 years, or sooner if needed. CABO canarias also enables you through this program to get training in newest current standards and procedures, and in the handling of an AED and oxygen treatment.

And to go a little further, CABO canarias offers you the possibility to become:

  • Emergency First Response Instructor, teach CPR and First Aid courses.

During the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will build on your skill as an Emergency Responder and focus on developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others.

The Instructor course provides you with the additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses.

Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses.
